Underfloor heating, which to choose?
By Muhammad Aqeel Qureshi
There are several ways to heat your house through the ground, the advantage of this heating system is that once established, it is invisible and does not show the heating on the walls. In addition, the floor heating distributes heat evenly throughout the room. There are two solutions under floor heating: heating underfloor heating and built from the ground. The integrated heating the ground (cables embedded in the concrete shell) is restricted to houses under construction. The system supports all types of flooring (tile, floor or screed). A thermostat regulates the heat of the slab after heating. Disadvantage, the heating time is often lengthy, requiring the owners of this system to let them operate under floor heating throughout the day. The integrated floor heating can be powered either by electricity, the boiler, even by the solar water heater. As against this system is rarely installed in an existing home to avoid raising the ground level. For existing homes, there is underfloor heating reported. These heating systems are powered by electricity from the house or by solar energy. The first system of floor heating is done with cables for heating. This system comes in the form of heating cables for fixed ground in parallel loops. This system is a longer to implement but it is very flexible and suitable for small rooms. There are several types of cables depending on the size of the room. The installation of the system application of the concepts in electricity. The principle is as follows: Divide the ground wire, install temperature sensors, spread the mortar on the surface and proceed with the laying of tiles. The second system of floor heating is the establishment of heating cables on frame. The principle arises is almost the same as the first except that the frames are laid on a bed of cement mortar before applying a layer of mortar and laying tile. |

The underfloor systems I have seen use flexible 1/2 inch tubing that is fastened between the joists. This tubing is connected to the boiler and each section of the house has it's own zone and thermostat. Hot water flows through the tubing and heats the house.
